Easy Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or a loaf pan.

  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.

  6. Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.

  7. Bake: Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
