Donuts recipie and cooking method

 Donuts recipie and cooking method

Sure! Here’s a classic recipe for homemade donuts, along with the cooking method:

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup warm milk (110°F or 45°C)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)
  • For the Glaze (optional):
    • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • Instructions:

      1. Activate the Yeast:

        • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and a pinch of the sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
      2. Mix the Dough:

        • In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
        • Add the frothy yeast mixture to the bowl and stir.
        • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. You may need a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.

      3. Knead the Dough:

        • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
        • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
      4. Shape the Donuts:

        • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thickness.
        • Use a donut cutter or two round cutters (one large and one small) to cut out donut shapes. Place the donuts on a floured baking sheet or parchment paper.
      5. Second Rise:

        • Cover the cut donuts with a damp cloth and let them rise for about 30 minutes, or until they have puffed up.
      6. Fry the Donuts:

        • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large heavy pot to 350°F (175°C). You’ll need enough oil to submerge the donuts, about 2-3 inches deep.
        • Carefully slide the donuts into the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding. Fry for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
        • Use a slotted spoon to transfer the donuts to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
      7. Glaze the Donuts (Optional):

        • In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
        • Dip the warm donuts into the glaze, coating them evenly. Place them on a wire rack to let the glaze set.

        • Enjoy your homemade donuts! If you prefer other toppings, you can also roll them in cinnamon sugar or sprinkle with powdered sugar instead of glazing
